Time to Update

Well its time to get back to blogging. I contemplated quitting but its a fun way to stay in touch; especially to far away family. Its also an easier way to journal.

Many changes have happen to our family and we are getting back to normal. We recently moved into some apts. near Sac State and I'm going back to school. Troy is working and watching the kids, he's amazing. That's pretty much everything in a nut shell.

The kids are so much fun. Three is a good time but getting much done with three is a challenge. Now here are some pics. Sorry Julie, it took me so long to get pics up I will try to be better. We love and Miss you tons.

Laura is a tree, Leta and Jen are Burt and Ernee, Kali is Snow White and Mattox is a dragon (just like last year, but he was so excited to be it again when he saw it in the Halloween bin). The kids had lots of fun and got just the right amount of candy. Leta made some great chili too. Ava was a bee but wasn't feeling very good so we didn't make her get dressed up.

FOUR, TWO & NEW

New Years Eve Mattox starting to throw up again already having the flu on Monday. So we stayed home and watched movies. Around midnight Mommy and Kali caught the flu all night long. Troy was so great and took care of all of us, luckily Mattox had stopped. It continued to the next day but the worst was over and then Daddy got it. That night Mattox started up again sparatically. So I cleaned him up and then put him and myself to bed, exhausted from the night before. Then they came at 3:00 in the morning. CONTRACTIONS! I was so tired and in major denial, my due date was Jan. 21, I tried to go back to sleep but no such luck it was for real. She came at 7:45am. Weighing in at 6lbs and15oz, Yes! A small baby! Welcome Ava Ashley Turner.

Troy was such a trooper and thankfully his flu didn't last as long. So does the flu bring on contractions? Apparantly dehydration does.

The Littlest Nutcracker

Kali's first performance! Trix puts on the Littlest Nutcracker for all the ballerinas to dance in while all their family came to watch. When we first sat down in the audience I showed Kali the stage and told her that she was going to get to dance on that stage. She was already a little irritated about the itchy costume and told me she didn't want to dance, as little tears rolled down her cheeks. So I told her she didn't have to dance on the stage and we could just watch. Then the lights went down and the curtains opened up revealing the beautiful dancers and magical Christmas scene. Kali sat up right and moved to the end of the chair and looked at me and told me that she changed her mind and did want to dance on the stage. She sat and watched until it was our groups turn. She did a great job.

Kali's 4th Birthday

My sweet Kali turned 4 in December and had a princess and dragon birthday party it was a lot of fun the kids made tiaras and shields and had skirts and swords to play with. We played games and of course had a pinata. Kali was so excited all day her birthday was finally here. Grandma Debbie made castle cupcakes, they were so yummy.

Mattox had his 2nd birthday Aug 18 (same as daddy). Grandma Debbie made him this cool Train Cake which Mattox was extremely excited about. He showed it to everyone. He such a fun little boy, he loves to tease his sister, gives lots of hugs and kisses, and make people laugh. His favorite things include motorcycles, trucks, cars and bugs and dirt.

These are some pics from Julies Baby Shower. I laughed so hard; everyone was so willing to participate in the games it was great. (Just in case you've never heard of the poop game and are wondering what is in the diaper its chocolate) If your wondering why Julie is laughing so hard its because the cat jumped in her gift bag while she was opening the present. I'm so exited for Julie and her first baby.

Well, it's been a very long time since I've updated my blog. If I were more computer savvy this would not be a big deal but I'm not. As you can see I still have the original template. Anyways this summer was very fun we visited family in San Diego, went to Tehatchapee for our aniversery, Park City for a girls trip. And pregnant Aunt Julie came to visit us which was very special she's due in November two months before me!

What do little brothers do when big sister and friends are putting on princess dresses? Snag some shoes before there gone, of course! (This is not a reflection of his manhood, he still eats dirt, catches bugs, picks on his sister, first form of communication was car sounds, spends hours digging anything diggable, playing with trains, cars trucks, balls and everything else little boys do)

When Daddy Says No........

Leta came over last week and made us some cookies. We were all talking when Mattox notice a lonesome cookie. So he reached for it, to give it some company, and Daddy beat him to it saying "no, no". Well, you can see how heartbroken Mattox was when he was only trying to help. So daddy quickly trying to make amends broke the cookie in half (offering the smaller half, creating more tears, then offering the bigger half, again more tears, then both halfs, significant decrease in tears). It took him a while but eventually smiled at the whole situation. What did Mattox learn? When daddy says "no" he really means "yes". Mattox, spent the rest of the week trying this approach on me. Thanks honey! Can anyone tell me why boo boo faces are so cute?

Flintstones Kid

I've been meaning to put this up for a little while. We had gone to the park and brought this trike for Kali and a smaller one without petals for Mattox. He has to do everything the big kids do, even riding a trike thats too big, while learning the meaning of a wedgy. I can't believe the speed he gets on this or how long he rode it.

We finally took a four generations picture last Sunday. I can't believe how big Kali is getting she makes me laugh, she is such a tease.

What could be more interesting than looking for eggs filled with candy? Ants!!! Mattox had a hard time finding eggs when there were ants to look at. Luckily his sister looks out for him and found eggs for him.

We went to Elk Grove Park on the Saturday before Easter. They had a ladybug release and farm animals and games the kids had a lot of fun. It was good practice for Easter egg hunting.

STEPS TO BECOME A PRINCESS:

STEP ONE: Change name to Princess Kali and refer to self as Princess Kali so others will catch on.
STEP TWO: Wear a dress with every outfit regardless of weather and wear pretty shoes as often as possible.
STEP THREE: Change into a princess dress at least two time a day.
STEP FOUR: Dance in dress to princess music at least one hour a day.
STEP FIVE: Contstantly apply lipstick and steal mom's whenever she's not looking.
STEP SIX: STUDY! STUDY! STUDY! Watch all princess movies and read all princess books.
STEP SEVEN: Get Beauty SLEEP!
STEP EIGHT: Wake up and begin another day of training.

The kids and I went to Hagen Park to take a look at the animals at the Petting Barn and came across this interesting bird. Take the poll and help me decide what kind of bird this is. It kind of waddles like a duck with a limp and kind of quacks like a duck with a cold, however its head moved back and forth like a chicken when he walked. There was a suspicious Rooster walking around whose back feathers matched this bird, however there was also a turkey in the pin.

Our Neighbors, Kevin andMichelle, just had a new baby girl, Kylie, and they let my baby obsessbed little girl hold her. Kali was so excited to hold a real baby and loved all the funny faces Kylie made. Kali couldn't take her eyes off of Kylie, as you can see in the last picture where Kylie is telling Kali a secret (we had asked Kali to look at the camera for a picture and her head moved but that was all). Congradulations Kevin and Michelle, she is so beautiful.

Mattox loves this book its so heavy (it is a bible), but he carries it around everywhere. He loves it when daddy reads it to him.
